In this video, we interviewed Boris Poludo, Head of Faculty and Senior Education Administrator at CCTB. He mentioned as a head of faculty he worked with instructors and trained and mentor the instructors and he also worked with the students as well.
He also mentioned the programmes offered by CCTB, he said CCTB is providing programmes in Business as well as Technology. “Here in Technology Database developer analyst, UI and UX developer analyst, Software developer in test are the very popular programmes” says Boris.
All the instructors at CCTB are from the IT sector with a minimum of 10 years of experience and they are connected very well with the industries and the curricula is completely based on the industry requirements. He mentioned the tech sector is booming nowadays and students are also getting great jobs in world leading organizations. “We have locations in ISIS Island Business park and also in Vancouver downtown” says Boris.
Most of the programs at CCTB are having work experience components, at the end of the program where students actually can go in the field and work with the business within IT companies in different roles. CCTB works with many companies in the field and they will sit with employers and see what they are looking for and will prepare the students specifically for those businesses. And also they will help students in resume preparations.
Boris said he started teaching in 2004, he did all kinds of training and mentorship including corporate training. “I really enjoy working with students and helping students to be successful in their line of work” says Boris. He also mentioned the 99 percent of students in CCTB are from different countries, to bring the students together they will run events, activities they will bring musicians, dancers and also run some technology related projects.
